Our research ranges broadly, but we are all linked by our interest in marine conservation. Virtually everything we do is applied, either directly or indirectly. Most of it deals with coastal marine ecosystems – coral reefs in particular. We use a variety of approaches, usually complementing field-intensive ecological work with meta-analyses of published information, lab experiments and/or modelling.
The current work of TMEL is divided into three overlapping areas:
-
Multiple stressor interactions and marine ecosystem resilience
-
Animal-mediated nutrients in shallow-water ecosystems
-
Marine invasions
