I use gradients in the sea to ask fundamental and applied questions about marine biodiversity maintenance in a time of rapid change, with a special focus on the resilience of habitat-forming species.
My current work focuses on management strategies to account for multiple stressors on vital nearshore habitats. I am comparing decision-making frameworks used by federal and local governments and partnering with stakeholders in the Salish Sea to assess drivers of kelp population change using Bayesian Belief Networks.
